440 Cylinder

I have a 81 polaris 440 engine that needs a cylinder. It's a fan cooled engine. The needle bearing cage broke and stuck a needle bearing on the side of the piston and cylinder. My options are either do an over bore or get a new cylinder. They only list a .020" over piston for this engine. Does anyone know if a 650 piston would work? They go oversized up to .050" and have the same bore/stroke if not could you tell me what other years of cylinders would fit? It's a EC44-2PM-3100 engine.
Thanks.

Polaris's online parts catalog only goes back to '85 so you might want to contact a dealer and inquire about usage of the cylinders on other MY sleds.....

You could also contact Indy Specialties as Dan is a Polaris guru from way back & would likely know the piston options for that engine off the top of his head.....

Good luck!

I wonder if you could use the cylinders, pistons and heads off a 488 that came in the later trail sleds. I see those for sale every so often.
