You need to adjust the deflection, if there's excess rubber build up on the primary it will creep and squeal also.

BELT TO SHEAVE CLEARANCE

Any one know how to get rid of the annoying squeal at idle on the 08 dragon 800

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ as the others have posted, which can re fixed by OPENING UP the secondary with the adjuster bolt & jam nut. You want the belt to be slightly higher than the top of the secondary belt, in a perfect world.

OR

It's a generic belt, or possibly the wrong belt???? that's TOO short, too wide?? try another, even a used belt off your buddies IQ or EDGE sled, see if it's the same problem

OR

Check your SIDE clearance, (belt -to-sheave) with a flat feeler gauge, you want approx .015" to .020" in a perfect world.

You didn't happen to just change weights did you?

Some weights (like the MTX series) have a TALLER shoulder and "close up" the clutch, possibly causing the problem you're describing.

Hope this helps
