Thanks Eric. We have gone the past 4 years in a row on turkey day to the Snowy's. Really hoping to get there this year but not looking too hot. And I think you know the guy I always ride with. Does Greg Mulherin ring a bell?
Yep! I cant even tell ya how many 10,s of thousands of miles that Greg and I have spent chasing snow. That will resume again this year after a 3 year hiatus. Eric

I have ridden every single trip with Greg the past 4 years. Good friends with his son Jason. Hopefully we will meet up this year. Small world

Has anyone been up to check? Sitting here in Iowa twitching my thumb. Was really hoping to come out for thanksgiving but not looking good minus the little storm last night

Sitting here in Laramie twitching my thumb as well! Doesn't look like it amounted to much, snotels are showing like 4". Got just enough in town to cover the grass. Sure is nice having winter temps and everything white again though, but a thanksgiving ride is looking pretty far out of the question around here. Good news is the forecast for early december is looking good, hopefully it will make up for lost time.

Confirmed - we drove up on Sunday to do some repairs on a metal roof. I think this is one of the latest dates we have drove up the trail in a pickup to my parents place from Albany (that I can remember) in the last 15 years.

It looks like a little bit of snow from this current storm (couple inches so far on the neighbors web cam)

Edit: adding picture from Sunday to show all the snow on the ground.....

Snotel sites are showing 10-15" from last night's snow. More snow coming on sunday and then cold and more chances for snow next week. Keep the snow dance going! Eric

Good thing ya took the ladder, with the snow that deep you might not have made it in the cabin.:face-icon-small-hap

HA! Hopefully we'll have some deep snow soon that will require ladders and snorkels :)

Yep - Good snow from this last storm and the next one is lined up starting Saturday night.

Took work to find deep enough snow to play in. Really only a few pockets out there. Mostly just road ride worthy still, unless you like breaking stuff

What side did you park on? I would say Green Rock or Sand Lake way. Have they closed the road yet over the top? I ride from the Ryan Park side just trying to get an idea where the snow is.
Thanks.

I park on 101 elk mtn side cause I have a cabin over there. This was at Sand Lake. Down at sand lake it was really only 14" or so. We got into 24-28" 500ft higher, but deep spots were very localized and wind driven. Even small ponds werent totally froze over yet, was breaking through

Hey 130

WYODOT is still showing that Hwy 130 across the top is still open. This morning it's showing snow, blowing snow and limited visibility with no unnecessary travel between Ryan Park and Green Rock.

Went up to greenrock today, 130 was still open all the way across and snowing hard. There was 3 or 4 inches at greenrock, not enough to ride so ended up scoping out a few areas from the truck near the road then went home.

We drove all the way to the top of Libby flats and the grass was still showing up there, again not enough to ride unless you want a new front end. I would suggest waiting until this storm rolls through this week. If it dumps what the prediction says and highway 130 closes, next weekend might be ridable.
