Obama is actively recruiting:

"President Obama's army of citizen volunteers is now actively recruiting college students in states across the country to "build support for President Obama's agenda" – and earn college credit while advocating for "change."

Obama for America, Obama's 2008 political campaign, merged with the Democratic National Committee in January and is now known as Organizing for America, or OFA. The movement some call "Obama 2.0" is now recruiting students and offering to provide credits toward degree plans in exchange for their advocacy skills.

A message from OFA national volunteer coordinators announcing the recruitment campaign and internship opportunities has been posted on several websites and on Facebook.

"Students and young people were critical in building the movement that helped elect President Obama last year. By becoming a National Organizing Intern, you'll be part of the grassroots effort to make the change we fought for a reality in 2009 and beyond," it states. "As an Organizing Intern, you'll work side by side with OFA staff and community leaders to help build support for President Obama's agenda. You'll learn core organizing principles that are crucial for any campaign and play an important role in building our organization in your state."

The announcement continues, "President Obama describes his time as a community organizer by saying: 'It was the best education I ever had, because I learned in those neighborhoods that when ordinary people come together, they can achieve extraordinary things.'

"This is your chance to get that same education.

"If you're passionate about making sure every American has quality health care , reviving our economy, and building a clean energy future, don't miss this great opportunity. No previous experience is needed in order to apply."

So, I ask yet again, what if a conservative president were doing this?

just as an fyi, every politician does this... recruits on college campus for unpaid staffers to work with them and often they get credit for it...

As a former college electronics instructor, retired in 2000, I would say that its the liberal arts students that have the "do gooder" complex. And are "liberals", just like their course curriculum.

Honest-to-gosh, I think Michael Savage is right when he says "Liberalism is a mental disease."

I dealt with mainly "techies" who are practical, 'get the job done' type of people.
As a complement Mule represents the mentality of the students I had the pleasure of training for 38 years. :)

Bottom line, I think there are more college students who are anti- liberal, and anti-fascism, than ones who are pro- current administration, and that's encouraging.

Of course the media isn't going to report that.
I could go on more here, but I'm a terrible slow typist. :p

Missoula must be the UC Bezerkley of Montana. I hope to God you're right. I need hope!! I'm too removed from college life to be aware, even though we have U of M here. One of the only conservative professors at U of M told me that when he teaches the Constitution he can't ask for volunteers in debates (for half to take one side of a debate and the other take the other side) because they're all liberal, so he has to just cut the class in half and tell them what "side" they'll be on for the debate.

Rush had the now infamous "Christine" on his show yesterday (crazy Lib) and she had everyone's blood pressure including Rush's shooting through the roof. He replayed the clip in the 2nd hour because those who tuned in late were clueless what the hulabaloo was about. He said there are more of "us" than there are "Christines." I hope to God he's right too.

is there a group of people more impressionable than college kids? im not saying all but you tell a college student that might not know exactly what they are doing in life that they can make a difference and they are on board. as stated, liberal arts and private colleges seem to be the worst for this. no offense to anyone, just my observations

That's what I worry about. Like I posted awhile back, the American Association of Physicians and Surgeons had an article from last October-ish about how Obama uses Dr. Milton Erickson's hypnosis techniques when he speaks. It was fun reading the doctors' and PhDs' discussions in the comments section on the article. One of the doctors specialized in the techniques herself (I think she taught them). There's a link on that site to the extensive research on what the techniques are and where/how Obama uses them. Once you know them you can see him using them.

The creepy thing, and the point, is that they said that the most vulnerable to the techniques are young people and the highly educated. (Uhhh....Universities????). My brother-in-law is a tenured professor at a CONSERVATIVE university and he is brilliant, has written several books, teaches economics, astronomy, statistics, and on his Facebook page he's a fan of Obama. HOW on earth could you teach economics and statistics and see what this guy is doing to our economy and be a fan of his unless you've been brainwashed??

The hypnosis on the intelligent, comes from their ability to focus their attention. What everyone's been calling hypnosis, is what I do to write software, turns out. They used to call it concentrating. But, when your doing it, and relaxed, you become suggestible, supposedly. But, I find myself psychoanalyzing their suggestions, instead of responding to them. Suggestible people, will mimic simple things, like rubbing your face, or stretching.

More name calling and insults from the Left in our Colleges and Univ., ripe pickings for Obama's recruiting. We already know "why young people overwhelmingly support President Obama and the Democratic Party." They promise to give them something for nothing and they've been brainwashed to hate America.

College Republicans Compiling List of Liberal Professors at Ohio School

"UT College Republicans President Matt Rubin, a junior majoring in political science and public administration, says the list is not an attempt to bash professors who have liberal ideas, but an attempt to speak out for students who may have been victims of political bias.

The University of Toledo's College Republicans are compiling a list of liberal professors who they claimed have a bias against conservative students. ...

"We've been portrayed in the media, as well as comments from people in the community including College Democrats, saying that we're creating a blacklist in order to smear the names of professors and that's not true," Rubin said. "We're giving a voice to the students that have been harassed because of their political beliefs. It's the same thing as bashing a student because they're gay."

Rubin said the list of liberal professors is important because of the many complaints he received from students at UT College Republicans meetings, concerning professors who made unnecessary political comments, including anti-Bush statements...

"What we're doing is representing students who have had that experience. We're trying to expose professors who have liberal bias and go against everything UT stands for," Rubin said. "How is saying 'President Bush is the dumbest president this country has ever had and should be hanged' improving the human condition?"...

David Mann, a second year law student, said there are other important issues the College Republicans could be concerning themselves with.

"If I were a College Republican, I'd be spending my time trying to figure out why young people overwhelmingly support President Obama and the Democratic Party, and not waste it on this silly idea," Mann said. "But if conservative students are afraid to defend their principles in the classroom, maybe they do need a list of professors to avoid."

"Government Education: Enemy of a Free Society

There is no question but that the revolutionary Left has triumphed in a way that many of us never dreamed possible. What we didn’t realize is that while our conservative principles were being undermined by misguided Republicans in the White House and Congress, the Left had lost none of its intention of imposing on America its radical socialist agenda.

The main reason they were able to succeed is that for the last 75 years they have been in total control of American public education, which gave them the means to produce a whole new generation of dumbed-down Americans who don’t know the difference between capitalism and socialism, freedom and tyranny...

Government monopoly education, controlled by the socialists, is destroying our freedom and economy. It is destroying the literacy of our children, and destroying their religion and morality. The American brain is being dumbed down at an alarming rate. And when you see the once mighty General Motors down on its knees and transformed into a government-owned dwarf, you know that the America we grew up in no longer exists. And who knows what will become of the once-mighty dollar with our trillion-dollar deficits.

But never underestimate the power of America to reassert its basic love of individual freedom. One of the good things to come out of the last election was the creation of the Campaign for Liberty started by Ron Paul and those millions of young Americans who voted for him and want to bring constitutional government back to America. This is a campaign that all patriotic Americans, regardless of parties, can whole-heartedly support. But make no mistake about it: the only real solution to the education problem is to get the government out of it. And the fastest way to do that is to get the children out of the government schools.

That is why I want these new patriots to read Is Public Education Necessary? and NEA: Trojan Horse in American Education. All of those eager young members of the Campaign for Liberty must realize that we have to get the government out of the education business, for one very simple reason: government monopoly education is totally incompatible with the principles of a free society."
