So why are they locked? The rumor I just read is that it's because Harris Publishing is afraid people will nuke their posts. Is that true or just more hysteria?

I dunno...some can give rep and some cannot...and it changes all the time.

I heard the same from Christopher.

Just more "We don't trust our users, so we're going to lock them all out and hold their hand for everything they try to do".

Our IT dept. tried that. They got real annoyed when I called their blackberry every time i'd restart the computer and need them to log in again.
