Formula III help

We have a 96 formula III 600 with a weird clutch issue.

The motor was just rebuilt and went through both clutches at the same time. NO broken springs and everything appears to be in good working order.

The problem is the primary clutch engages and operates fine, but when you let off the throttle the clutch hangs up and snaps back rather than releasing smooth.

I have never seen this before and am looking for what might be causing it. It does it while it you are riding it as well.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Take the primary spring out and reassemble the clutch. Now try to close the clutch. I think you may find that outer sheave bushing is tight. Sometimes the bushing can get "scard" up when clutch is reassembled.

If it was ok before the dis-assembly then something is out of alignment or a bushings are damaged . Check the governor cup bushing also.

Will check out the bushings.

The sled was bought non running, so we have no idea if the clutch was operating correctly or not prior to purchase.
