On Tuesday Night we ran the Vbulliten Optimizations on the main database.

On Wednesday Night we ran the RECOUNTS on all the Vbulliten Counters.

In almost all cases this results in the final counts on ALL NUMBERS (not just post counts) coming DOWN.

Your current post count now reflects exactly what is available on SnoWest.

I had to do this in order to get the new REP system ready to turn ON today.

It just all seems so random...like I said my count is no big deal. But there are members who have been on here for over a decade and they lost almost 2/3 of their post count?

Exactly.

From what I gather, back in Nov. of '07, SW went to a new format. During that change, our join date and post counts were reset. Alan (the old Mod AC) manually changed our join dates and post counts as requested by the member. Christopher did a maintenance feature that removed what AC manually entered a few years ago.

I think you are EXACTLY CORRECT.

While I do NOT yet know this for certain.
It "APPEARS" that when the old database was imported from the previous forums, not all the posts came over, but your post count did.

So when the counters went through the current database they didn't find all of the old posts from the previous forums, and your post counts were adjusted to reflect ONLY what is available on this forum.

In the late 90's when snowest changed forum software, peeps lost their post counts. Finally in '02 after numerous posts protesting, an option became available to roll over your post count from previous forum version

What was the old, old forum based on, Cold Fusion ? Do you remember ?

My memory is fuzzy on what the fourm was based on before that

Yeah, it was Fusetalk...I think ColdFusion is what ran that.
