Axys SLP pipe max det issue

I have a orange assault 16 axys with SLP pipe resistor in, on non eth mode 2500-3000 feet. First 75 miles with pipe dialing in clutching (recommended set up works best who would have thought) no max det. The last ride I did a two day trip and it would max det constantly on any decent pull at 8300-8400 had to switch to eth mode and that fixed problem but defiantly noticed lack of throttle response. Is this going to be an on going thing, any one have the same issue, and what are some fixes can I just add octane boost and move on?

Yank the resistor.
Mine wouldn't run right with it in.
Runs great 500'-6500' elevation.
Non ethanol mode.
76 grams of clutch weight.
90 octane fuel from holiday.
Solid 8350 rpm in cantwell.

I too am running the SLP Pipe in AK from 0-3000' with NO resistor, non-ethanol mode, 76g with SLP Blue/Pink Spring(140/340) turning ~8500rpm. Runs great, only had a few over-rev det mode due to light snow conditions. But I will take this over under-revving. The Axys definitely runs the best around 8500rpm IMO.

Make darn sure your getting GOOD fuel. At 8,000ft my sled will DET with 89 non-eth, but runs perfect with 91 non-eth. Eric

I am in AK also, just installed the SLP/resistor and A2D clutching. I have been running in eth mode to break it in because we only can get 90 fuel. So are you AK guys running 90 in non eth mode without any det? I haven't got to run with the slp yet so don't know if the resistor is causing any issues yet or not.

I ride from 1500ft to 6500ft. SLP told me that under 4000 ft I will be running lean above 7500rpm. They recommended not pinning it on the trail up until I hit 4000ft. Are guys really running low elevation without the resistor and having no issues? It would be a lot more convenient for me to switch from non ethanol to ethanol mode for elevation changes than messing with the resistor.

the down sides to eth mode from the SLP guy is that u add like 10% fuel accross the board insted of just 7500 up. When I was running eth mode the other day I was getting e-tec gas milage, burned so much more fuel than norm almost didnt make it back to the truck. I would like a good explantion of Ethonal mode and what it does and it seems like no resistor and Octain boost are the safest way to go

Just a thought..

I wonder if the SLP pipe vibration-strap update situation could effect this... the DET sensor could be picking up this harmonic??

A group of people were at dynotech , they said eth. Mode was about 3% more fuel over all rpm, and a touch less timing above 8400 rpm.
