Been making some good progress. I decided to make a jig for my subframe and am making a few extras. going to try to get the track cut today. still trying to track down sprockets and bearings.

trying to figure out geometry for my suspension arms. lots of work to go but getting there!

Last year built my sno bike off an 03 wr450, exceeded my expectations. some refinement this winter will make it better.

But......... have to try a light weight. So been collecting parts, bought a yz250 in a basket with blowww'ing motor for $250. Just got cyln back from US chrome new weisco crank, piston, boyseen rad cage just showed from e bay seller, other random engine parts now sitting on bench. 07 cat suspension just showed up, picked up 141 track on the way back from hunting on Sunday. Any one have a big tank. bought to start making frame work. this time around its going to mount direct with no kit dog bone. Never going to be dirt bike again. Any one need wheels ? Will post pic when I have some welding under way, big parts pile so far.

Building air box for my wr450 right now. anyone have a bigger tank for sale.
Also have three late model yz450 complet exhaust systems for sale cheap off al frame bikes.

trying to smoke out an old 300 kit for the yz ? Anyone.

1800, nice work so far. Did you cut the track lugs down a bit? Looks like youre using a steel skidframe. Also, did you cut the track lugs down a bit?

I am really rolling. I need to figure out my suspension arms. That isy next difficult task. It's really working nicely. I am kinda struggling on how I want to fab up the chain tensioners tho.

Btw does anyone know what length shocks are ran in a timbersled MH kit?

1800, do you have issues with your rails/track twisting a lot if you rock it on its side?

I built something very similar to your setup yesterday and had to add a scissor arm off a skid to keep the tips of the rails from tweaking back and forth.

got a free standing rear suspension system in one day.. might have to throw some pics up here in a second.

operation slow and steady.

2 chain tensioners mounted, a few little welds and i can field test with the front tire on... not bad for i think 2 full days of working on it... cant wait to test it out. and a silly air intake vision... it was the signal to leave the shop for the night.

Nice to see the progress of your build.

I have my doubts about your air intake.
The jeting of carburator is tuned to the OEM airbox.
When conecting snorkle directly to the carb you may get some problems like the motor run lean or rich.
Try to keep airbox, seal it, drill a hole and conect snorkle to airbox.
Look my photos of my snorkle at post #2 in this thread.

The intake was a joke, i am aware of how going away from the intake box affects the air bleeds. but luckily i have one of the top people in the nation to assist me in carb tuning if i do choose to get wild with it.

problem is using the stock airbox isnt an option right now as my stock shock would go right through it!!! so its a project i gotta work on.

just gotta knock out the front chain tensioner and add a little bracing to the side plates to keep them from bending..

rode it around the block. handles a little weird on packed dirt/pavement.

Skidoo in it,

Sick build! That thing is a monster! How long and wide? 144 x14? Whee did you find the bearing carriers, they look kinda fancy? Is it weird that I noticed that?
