D&D big dog weights vs. cat weights

Do cat weights and D&D weights run the same rpm when you compare gram to gram? The reason I'm asking is I need a set of low elevation weights for my 2010 m8. Cat calls for 73's, I have a set of 75's kicking around. How can you grind them? I could just get a stronger Primary spring if need be

Heavy tips

The 2010 needs light tipped weights and the big dogs are heavy tips as long as you take all the weight off of the tip it will work try and make them look like the ones you take out and you should be good to go.

Just curious about this but how can an 06 m7 call for 75g weights@ 0-3,000 where a newer m8 with more power calls for 71.5g@ 0-3,000. Sorry to hijack just doesn't make sense to me....

Because the newer M8's like 8100rpm where as the older ones run at 76-7700.

Clutching

It seems funny but it like an M1000 stock pulls 80G weights a ported m1000 uses like 76G weights. Its a matter of RPM's the stock M1000 runs 72-7400 RPM's and a ported M1000 with Speedwerx pipe runs 7800 so you need to spin it up faster.

So if that makes sense.
A stock m8 uses 07-09 stock weights at 6-9000 70G light tip and a 2010 uses 65G light tip,
when you turbo them 07-09 use 80-82G heavy tips and a steep helix like 44-48 and the 2010 are using like 77-80G heavy tips. So is there any question which makes more power?

So if he's got 75 D&D's... if he was to grind off the backside of the tip (obviously same on all three), would you think that 2g off the tip would be enough to make those work?

Seems like it'd be worth a try to me?

weights

The answer would be yes as long as he gets the tips to look meaning as thin or light tipped as the stock.

BIGDOGS

I was told the same, you can' pull those. The bigdogs are great flatland drag weights. With a heavier spring (primary) you could pull them but they don' t backshift well in the pow. I run them in my f6eb (set up is unbeatable), it took me 3 winters of testing to get 63grams rideable, i switch to 67 to drag. My crossfire doesn' t like them at all in snow, i have a 7 with a 1.75 backcountry. I run cat weights, they are good everywhere. The dogs would work better racin i'm sure but it would be easier to have a second primary rather than changing weights. (maybe i should do that:face-icon-small-sho) LIGHT TIP IS BEST IN THE WEST! You could run dogs but would be doin alot of clutchin and they would never be really good. THEY DO PULL HARDER THOUGH!:light:

the heavy tipped profile i found works great out in the mountains and when im at home. i bought the magnaforce weights and you can move the weight around in 4 places. they definitely pull way harder. 1000 likes it.
