1000 Recoil on ZX 800?

I've heard a few whispers that this is possible. Can anyone confirm or deny? And are they infact stronger than the 800 offerings? Got 2 ZX's here that are basically loaner sleds for buddies who only ride a couple times a year. Can't seem to keep a recoil in them and am looking for an upgrade.

The 1000 SDI unit uses a metal pawl, mine is the original from 2005 and still looks and works perfectly. Put a new rope in her every other season....
