I would use a 2871 with a 0.64 AR on a front mount, less heat and back pressure. The 0.64 housing is preferred for faster spool up on the 2860 as well. Alpine or Powderlites will be able to sell you either turbo. 0.64 and 0.86 a/r are the most commonly used.

thanks guys...looking into all these different turbo, its funny because you
can go right up to a 30 series turbo and still have a 25 series turbine size frame...makes sense for a faster spool up but less heat and backpressure with
a 28 frame one would think.

2860 with .64

hi, i just put a 2860 on my front mount powderlites turbo kit.the sled is a different sled now ,way faster and more responsive.my first turbo was a 2554 then i went to a 2560 with the ported wastegate and ceramic coating.the 2860 would be a good turbo for your sled.i couldnt believe how much of a difference my sled is with the 2860 ,which is also ported and ceramic coated.i thought i was on a different sled and couldnt believe it was my sled.you will like the 2860. this is on an 04 rx1 .hope this helps.
