SLP head install..... Question on head bolts/sealant

The stock head bolts had something applied to them which I assume is to help with the seal. What is the black substance? Should I be cleaning all off of the head cover and bolts and applying something new upon installation? Is it just black RTV?

I just cleaned them up and re-installed when I did my BMP head.. Hoping I did it right lol..

Yes just clean it up and use rtv
