Yes it fits! If I remember correctly the only mod I had to do was different (thinner) drop brackets.
I also cut down all those long rivits sticking out in the tunnel, just in case the track wanted to move side to side a little.

going to do it to my Nytro MTX
my Viper was a 02 shorty so I installed drop brackets from ty sponsor
(2ooosrx?) ground rivets and bolts (even with nuts)
if you have a mountain viper you can trim the drop brackets, I think thats the tightest spot

deffinitly can be done. i put one on mine about 2 years ago. what I did was got stock apex brackets and modified them so that they would go on my viper. they are a little heavy but other than that they worked great. just had to do a little cutting and welding on them. here is some pictures if you want to take a look
