'01 SXR500 low speed gurgle noise?

At mid and high speed my '01 SXR500 runs smooth with good acceleration, but at low speed the engine has a gurgle and rumble. Both plugs have a bit of oil on bottom threads and the bottom of the plugs look washed with no real color to speak of. Fuel consumption also seems excessive.

What should I do to fix low speed gurgle?

How many miles? You can try dropping your needles 1/2 to 1 clip position. Yamaha's are set a little rich from the factory and also if you have a couple thousand miles the nozzle start to wear cause excessive fuel by the needle.

only 1200 mile on machine. Clip adjustment didn't seem to work so I cleaned carbs which were dirty with belt dust on intake side. Runs alittle better but still gurgles and rumbles intermittenly at low speed. 100psi per cylinder - would that cause this problem?
