Like Youtube, an embed code for Vimeo videos. I personally upload all of my videos to Vimeo because they broadcast your video production in what I feel to be higher quality. easier/faster/more convenient access to videos posted on threads when they are readily availible to view instead of clicking on a link and pulling up a seperate window.

Thanks,
WAG

SORRY GUYS!
Sometimes I forget that not all of you live on SnoWest full time!

Most members that embed You-Tube videos do so by using the small YOU-TUBE icon in the edit window
picture.php

Clicking that icon generates a set of vBullitin tags that sit on the left and right of the video ID number.

BUT...

There is a better way if you are willing to take a couple extra steps.

Click on REPLY.
The Reply To Thread window opens (The Edit Window)
Then, look in the TOP RIGHT CORNER of the edit window for this icon.
switchmode.gif

Click on that icon to move from WYSIWYG over to EDIT MODE.

Now, lets say you want to EMBED this video
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MKn9kOtVgEg

Normally you would just insert the "MKn9kOtVgEg" between the you-tube tags, but now you can do a controlled EMBED of the video instead.

On the video page
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MKn9kOtVgEg

Click on SHARE
Then choose EMBED
Choose your desired display resolution
Then COPY the generated code

< iframe src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/MKn9kOtVgEg" allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="480" width="640">< /iframe>

When you paste that code into the Edit Window while in the EDITOR MODE it will generate the video display when you exit the Editor mode and return back to the WYSIWYG mode.

If you paste the same code in WYSIWYG, then all you will see is the code, like above.

These are examples of the same video embeded at different resolutions.
<iframe src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/MKn9kOtVgEg" allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="315" width="420"></iframe>

<iframe src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/MKn9kOtVgEg" allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="360" width="480"></iframe>

<iframe src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/MKn9kOtVgEg" allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="480" width="640"></iframe>

<iframe src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/MKn9kOtVgEg" allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="720" width="960"></iframe>

This process is the same for VIMEO

VIMEO
http://vimeo.com/16044801

Go to the video.
Click on SHARE
That will take you to their EMBED page.
COPY the embed code.

With an open REPLY or NEW thread page, switch over to EDITOR MODE
Paste the EMBED code
<iframe src="http://player.vimeo.com/video/16044801?badge=0" width="500" height="375" frameborder="0" webkitAllowFullScreen mozallowfullscreen allowFullScreen></iframe> <p><a href="http://vimeo.com/16044801">breathe - the most beautiful snowmobile clip in the world</a> from <a href="http://vimeo.com/user5020400">Martin Kroken Rokkones</a> on <a href="http://vimeo.com">Vimeo</a>.</p>

So... simplify it a little. Dont wanna get into all the "editor" garbage... just wanna share and go... Have tried the VIMEO "65854" in the youtube tags, didnt work. Tried the "http: Vimeo/64857" in the tags, didnt work, same with the embed code itself... no window. Can you lay out simplified instructions specific to VIMEO, not YouTube? vAnd I dont see anywhere to swith to EDITOR MODE on the reply page?

Christopher thanks for your reply, it's nice to know that you can enlarge your youtube embed video size inside a post. However like Powdercrew said is it at all possible to just get a Vimeo embed button? I have no idea the specifications this takes, so maybe it's simple or maybe it's not. If not I will learn the method you portrayed in your post and make it work. :face-icon-small-hap Once again thank you for your post.

honestly don't know.
Its a matter of whether or not someone has written the custom interface code for Vimeo for direct support in vBulletin 3.8

If there is a module out there that we can grab and install then we could do it that way.

OK
Click on the REPLY button.
A new screen will open.
The BOLD TITLE on the screen will be Reply to Thread in the upper left corner.

Now, this is the NORMAL screen you use to type all of your posts or replies in.

LOOK in the upper RIGHT hand corner for this little icon.

>>>
switchmode.gif
<<<

That is the symbol with 2 "A"s in it.
One Small
One Large.

If you put your mouse over that icon it will say SWITCH EDITOR MODE

Click on that icon.
POOF
Your now in EDITOR MODE.

If you are just typing plain text you will see NO difference at all.
BUT.
If you have been formatting any of your text you will now see the HTML tags and formatting code displayed.

So, for example.
In your reply box, type out a word, then BOLD it and Color it.
Then click on the A/A Editor Icon and you should see all the HTML code wrapped around your word.

Christopher... that "AA" icon is NOT in my reply window... anywhere. I hovered my cursor over EVERY icon available, there is no "switch editor" mode. The window displays "Reply to Thread" in bold in the upper left corner. The only thing in upper right corner is the THREAD TITLE: "Thread: Embed VIMEO videos into posts!" Nothing but text options and "brackets" in the text window...

Give it a try now.

There are THREE options in your account settings that control what you see.

Message Editor Interface
<label for="rb_user[showvbcode]0_51"><input name="user[showvbcode]" id="rb_user[showvbcode]0_51" tabindex="1" value="0" type="radio">Do Not Show Editor Toolbar</label>
<label for="rb_user[showvbcode]1_51"><input name="user[showvbcode]" id="rb_user[showvbcode]1_51" tabindex="1" value="1" type="radio">Show Standard Editor Toolbar</label>
<label for="rb_user[showvbcode]2_51"><input name="user[showvbcode]" id="rb_user[showvbcode]2_51" tabindex="1" value="2" checked="checked" type="radio">Show Enhanced (WYSIWYG) Editor Toolbar</label>

Your account was using STANDARD and I think you need to be set to ENHANCED to see all of the options.
