Like the title says, broke my 2018 yeti ski today. No impact, just a hard downhill turn with the power on. Broke right in front of spindle. Really slow crappy ride out! Anyone else having this problem?

I have heard of a few other cases of this. Those were under racing conditions though, not something simple like that....

Doesnt give me any more confidence for jumping big $hit, thats for sure. Seems like I am going to need a spare ski in truck. Just broke too easy.

Hopefully they are already working on a fix. Glad I have a '16 ski, have cracked a couple of them but never broke one.

Ya, they hyped the new ski/spindle but honestly my 16 tall spindle with 16 ski was better on the trail and no worse in deep or variable snow.

I've never heard of that. Any pics so we can see whats up. On a side note would it be possible to flip the ski around backwards to ride out either way that would suck large. I took a chunk out of my 16 Yeti ski last season but it was right at the front. I'm still running it on the CR500.

Rubber Block

On the New Timbersled ski the fat part of the rubber is pushing the front of the ski down. It supposedly stays on plane better this way. 3 hrs ago, I thought I would try the same thing with the Yeti ski. I turned the rubber around and is now similar to the ARO ski angle. Maybe this will cure the Yeti ski's propensity to hydroplane snow ahead of itself. Maybe it will process the snow better by helping the snow pass underneath instead of pushing out ahead of the ski. Maybe it will be more efficient and less stress on the ski being more parallel with the snow? Another Yeti ski glitch is it sticks on take-off, track digs in 6" before ski budges. The ski being more on plane vs plowing might cure it. I'll find out tomorrow.

I can't even imagine how any one can break a ski unless it's hitting something that doesn't move . I've got three hundred pounds on some of you guys and the only thing taking the beating is the rubber puck .

Never once seen this ski plow snow either . It's got to be in the set up because it funnels snow flawlessly , a true climbing ski .

We broke 3 out of 4 18 skis. The only fix so far is to run the 16 center snag. Drill a hole for the front round bar part

Yeh, camso knows about it. Our dealer sent us 17 skis for now, with updated 18 in process. Evidently the 16/17 skag provided alot of support for the ski.

The thread started out talking about a Yeti ski, are you also saying there are issues with the Camso skis?

No, they make the yeti now. I believe the ski manufacturer is the same as always PPS.
