Longest Track on Wedge Chassis

Just curious what is the longest track anybody has run on the wedge chassis?
I'm at 162" x 2.25" and that seems to be about the limit for xtra 10 136" rails w/ extensions & set-back.

Anybody run a longer track than 162"?

longer......???????

Why do you need more? I would think that swapping suspensions would be a good idea. Better ride would be the main reason. I know a guy that is running a 159 on the X10 and did not have any problems, and he is a pretty big guy and rides pretty hard.

At this point, I am still trying to decide what to do. My 162" works very well with the 900 HTG, but I picked up a 1000 HTG that I would like to try in that sled. If I need more track, I was thinking about trying the old 900 RMK track (166" x 2.4"). So I was curious if anyone had used that track on a wedge before and what their set-up was.

Why not switch skids? I really like the way my coil-over xtra 10 is set-up. Weighs only 45 lbs, and has very good approach angle w/ the set back. I could switch, but that more $$ and time to set it up for my riding style.

Thanks for the responses.

45 lbs? Is that without the shocks, springs, bogies and idlers? I just sold a 97 133.5 xtra 10 skid and the shipping weight was 76 lbs. The box and packing materials I'm pretty sure weighed less than 10 lbs.

It has the holz coil-over kit installed, & ice scratchers, only 1 set of bogies.

I did not realize you were taming a 900 or a 1000 cc hotrod. I would try it, but get the ones that will accommodate hy-fax full length. I think they would be stronger. I would also include some cross bracing between the extensions. I used some aluminum shafts from old suspension pivots on my 151" conversion to add some sort of strength to resist bending.
