Buried my 155 a few times this year just west of the Sault.

This is what the 128 with a 1-3/4 backcountry track on it did LOL!

No matter how many stucks this year or the length of the sled, no one can deny that this was one of the best winters in Michigan in a very long time!

137??? What a joke... i spend a half dozen weekends a year in the UP and 1 trip a year out west. The drainages and ravines can be downright nasty if you know where to go. Key phrase KNOW WHERE TO GO! I was trapped in one earlier this year i couldnt get out of for 2.5 hours. 137? Not a chance. I get stuck maybeeee once a day out west? Usually stuck 10 times a day in the UP.

Half a dozen weekends eh? One trip out west... Hummmm so maybe 15-20 days. And for how many yrs? Your sled profiles shows current sled as the only off trail sled, Not to mention I have been riding longer than you have been alive.... Damn millennial's think they know it all. I used to ride 4 days a week in the UP all season. I ride 4-5 days a week in The mountains. The pics you posted is all set up snow that is what we call hero snow. Those are the days I won't ride cause its too easy. I had a guy ride with me a few weeks ago from flat land. He lasted 4 hrs and put his sled in a drainage. 13 hrs later we got the sled out (4 am), after we cut down a tree to put over a 10 ft hole and hook a winch to it and lift the backend out of the ice that froze the track up cause it was -5°. Its simple, the UP is a great place to ride when you do not have access to the mountains and I'm sure you can find some sweet spots, but to say the drainage's in the UP are gnarly compared to the mountains is 100% false. How many time has SAR had to pluck some flatlander out of a drainage in MI? Fish Creek drainage is a bi-weekly occurrence. I will pay for your trip out here if you drop down in FCD and make it out. Better yet, I will just take you on a normal ride. If you only get stuck once I will give you a handy.

I will say it again, an EXPERIENCED ride can and will handle the UP snow on a properly set up 137". I did it for yrs and now with over a decade of mountain riding I am just that more confident. Riding a 155" in MI takes the challenge out of it. After you get a few more yrs in, then drop back down to a 137 and challenge yourself. Its way more of a thrill. I see guys here hang on a 146 and even some 137s, but they are very good riders. You think Adams, Bruandt would not hang on a 137 in UP? This is my point.

I will agree, MI has had a great last half of the season.

maybe just get your tape measure out and get it done with. Remember to start from all the way under it and then add an inch or two to be sure youre bigger.....

edit- both of your links are for rescues of people that got lost. One was for skiers even????

It's common sense. Experience is key as in everything in life. But then again, most ppl that get pulled from FCD are from Minnesota, so comment like that from you is expected. Most Minnesotans have a problem even parking in a Colorado lot let alone getting off the cat track.

I will for sure pay for your trip if you drop into Fish Creek Drainage and ride out on own power. Although even the locals stay out of there, but I guess they dont know how to ride like da UPer, eh?

But if you need any assistance in getting out, being a ski pull (but more like SAR or a helicopter) you pay for my week of riding out there. You in?

I’ve ridden with Hblakes, I’m pretty confident you don’t stand a chance and he’ll win that bet

I ride 48" wide and 155X2.215 comp track here and 36 wide with 3.2 out west.

Just watched that vid again and screw Michigan brush riding !! I like riding trees but ours are just to dam close. Hard to cut down too. Hardwood isn't favorable to a hand saw
