draining oil in chain case

would you think its possible to Drill and tap the bttom of the cover then put a plug in it for next time

i'm sure it would be possible but in no way worth it you only have to loosen like 3 bolts for the oil to drain.

To drain chaincase just loosen the bolts and let it drain slowly into a small pan under sled, won't make a mess. If all you want to do is a gear change lay sled on its side with handlebar resting on 5 gal bucket and raise back of tunnel enough to level chaincase and pull off cover. I allways choose to drain anytime I pull cover.

Easy drain

I took the ski off the roller on the chaincase side. Then I took the bolts out of the top and slowly loosened the bottom ones. I put a funnel in a coffee can and let it drain through the floor board. The old oil was later put in the new oil container and there was not a drop on the floor:D
