where can i find out more info on this motor? I purchased this sled for 100 bucks and it runs fine but i think it would be a great turbo sled,

so my questions

is this motor strong enough to handle some boost?
where can i buy new pistons and gaskets?
what was the factory power ratings?

any info would be great.

I'd say turbo and let us know how it goes. My first sled was an 87 sks 400 that was liquid cooled. Im going to guess that as usual ss stands for supersport and that it is a fan cooled if not the, the 400 l/c is the same as a 500 just smaller sleeves and pistons. I thought seriously about doing a nitrous kit on mine even talked to the polaris dealer about it they thought it was a good idea instead I just bought a 500 from a friend and dropped that in. never considered a turbo though... hmmmm
