I just read about this.

Yes, and it’s the only way to pin point lost/stuck buddies. We all show up as Dots the map. We can text back and forth with in reasonable distance. We also have In Reach to text by satlite witch also pin points location, but it’s a pay per text package so use wisley.

Not the only way, Garmin Rhino does this but not via phone. Looks very cool.

The Rhino's are awesome for locating stuck / lost riding buddies. We have been using these for the last 10+ yrs.
