That is some "serious" empty trailer weight to be hauling through the mountains on icy roads..

So I tow this 28ft trailer with an F250 "Extended cab with a 6.5' bed on it.
So its NOT a crew cab and NOT a long bed.
That said, every time a semi-truck passes me I feel like I am getting SUCKED INTO the truck. And when there are strong cross winds, I SLOW DOWN.
There have been several times when it felt like the trailer was steering the truck in bad weather.
I can only imagine what it would be like to be in an F150 short bed rather than the 250..
Just snap a picture of the data plate on the trailer. It'll tell you all the info people have been asking for.
If you really want to weigh it, just go down to the truck stop on N. Homes. May cost you a few $$$$ though.

What they are asking for is a VERIFIED FINISHED weight.
And the only way to get that is to actually put the trailer on a scale.
Will see if I can't make a run out to that scale.
Its worth a couple bucks to know for SURE what the reality is.

Then a Fully Loaded weight for 5 sleds and 100% travel gear.
IMO, unless you ordered it with 8k axles, you may have the weight capabilities confused. According to Mirage on the trailer you posted about in the #1 post only comes with the standard 3500# axles (5 lug wheels) or an upgrade to 5200# axles (6 lug wheels) in either a tandem or triple axle configuration. The specs for a 102x28 w/5200# tandem axles are listed below (copy/paste from Mirage). The only change to the weight specs will be what payload it's capable of based upon the unloaded weight of the trailer. With 5200# tandem axles you're limited to the 9990# GVWR loaded.
Tandem 8k or triple 6K axles would be required for the follow weight specifications:
Trailer is LISTED as 4,200lbs
Payload is LISTED as 11,400lbs
GVWR is listed as 15,600lbs

This is what I was getting at earlier.
I just looked on truckers path free app and it looks that all the truck stops have a scale in the Idaho Falls area. They are usually 11.50 the first weight and $2 for any weight after that. go to truck stop with truck and trailer weigh truck and trailer then drop trailer go back and weigh truck. If you watch what you're doing pulling onto the scale you should be able to get steer axle, rear axle, and trailer axles separate

But the PLATE says..

Go with what the data plate states. Ignore the paperwork.
At that weight will you have to register your truck stating a gvw also at that weight you will be over weight for the bridge laws/ tires on you pickup. A friend of mine got a over weight ticket the other day up at Ashton scale with an empty horse trailer by IDOT.
If it was 15600 and you were pulling it with a one ton you are overweight and supposed to have a cdl. Anything over 26000. Doesn't matter if you are empty or loaded. Farm and ranch and rvs are supposed to be exempt but they are trying to get their greedy little paws on that. Some states have different rules for rvs but usually revert to the laws in your state I believe. We have a d bag dot guy in Bozeman but they don't bother you in billings. He says the guys in billings are lazy.
When I travel now I try and put as much weight in truck box as possible.

If your using it for personal use you really don’t have any restrictions when pulling with a one ton or smaller in most states.
If your a business you become a Commercial vehicle once you reach 10,000 GCVW depending on your state, but definitely when you cross state lines
If your business vehicle GCVW is over 26,000 you are a commercial vehicle everywhere and will need a CDL

Noticed another thing yesterday. The inside of the heated storage locker are LIT!
Looks like they added an LED strip light inside the lockers. I might have mentioned this before, not sure, but yesterday the feature really stood out as we were using the lockers quite a bit.

Is that a triple axle to haul that heavy ole alpha around. Maybe hauling that poo evens it out.
