07 Vector Mtn starting problems

I bought an 07 Vector for my wife last year and it has always been hard to start it. On my apex I turn the key on and the dash lights up and I hear the fuel pump prime. On the vector I turn the key and after it starts then the dash lights up. Is this normal? After we have the sled warmed up and ride all day then it starts easy. But in the mornings it takes awhile to start. It almost drains the battery. Any ideas??

Apex is fuel injected and I do believe the 07 Vector is carbed...The dash is normal...Are you using the choke on the Vector??

mine starts fine when I turn the choke on.(left handlebar)

Unless it's warm, you need to fully choke it on initial start. As soon as it starts, begin to pull the choke off slowly until it idles on its own with the choke off. The dash won't light-up until it's running, where the Apex comes on with the key. The first start of the season may take a while and you may even need to prime the carbs before it'll light......
