Just curious what guys are seeing on belt life with their 18 and 19 cats with the new motor and primary clutch. My alpha just turned 600 miles over the weekend on the original belt. 180 miles stock over 400 miles boosted hammered on. Very impressed. Belt still looks great, can’t decide on if it’s time to retire it or run it until it starts to go. Kinda wanna see how long it’ll last, but don’t want it letting go in a bad place.
My 18’ cat is 100% stock and also on its first belt at about 500 miles.

19 mt cat with the first 450 miles boosted and now almost 700 miles with the last non boosted. belt is still the first belt and looks really good to this point.
even have it geared up a bit 20/50. this belt has had the hell beat out of it.

Belt

I have over 800 miles on my belt and it looks fine, never missed a beat. I see lots of black dust accumulated on the clutch side but belt looks in good shape.

Ended last season with just shy of 1400 miles, decided to change as a maintaince interval. Still looked great.

Must have got sick of that "pull and go" reliability of a turbo:face-icon-small-win

wrong thread for this BUT
came off a 16 with a 900 top end that had real good power with a super fast bottom end. then on to a turbo that under boost was awesome. off boost not so much.... the other thing was the physical weight placed in the chassis made it feel 4 stroke heavy. took the light playfulness out of the front end.

Does anyone know if gates makes a replacement belt? I tried to look up some info but couldn't find anything that matches stock width and length.

If you can get at least 1000 miles on the stock cat belt, not sure why you would want to try anything else. The stock cat belt works and it lasts.

nearest AC dealer is 50 miles away, so stopped by the local Polaris dealer to pick up a spare...they cross ref'd a gates and ordered from a catalog.

I'm gonna verify it's a match before I head out into the BC...I did ask if they were sure, but u never know...

Primary is changed to red/white dalton. That spring helped a little. Talked with steve at mds and he told me to switch to a straight 45 helix. Hopefully that will work.

We broke that exact spring and Steve is supposed to send a new one.
