I'm starting to plan our annual snowmobile trip and we'll be coming to your neck of the woods this winter. We've been there before and stayed in West Yellowstone.

We'll have a big group and we're thinking about renting a house in IP as houses / cabins appear to more plentiful there. How far is West Yellowstone by car & sled in winter time?

it's about 20 miles about 1.5 inches on the map

Even in crappy weather you can get there in less than an hour buy sled or car.
Now that depends on which end of island Park you're in though.
