Just wondering what any of you might have done to get some "snap" back to your sled after throwing one of the kevlar 311115 belts on.

My sled just doesn't feel anywhere near as snappy as it used to with this 311115 belt as it used to with the 1080 belt.

I have not set the belt deflection on the secondary with the new belt, and my primary clutch appears to be shimmed a little bit loose.

I have ordered the Red/Pink spring for my secondary in, will having a slightly stiffer spring in there help?

Dogmeat, all I did on my '06 when I went to the 1115 was set belt deflection and it still has mucho, mucho snap out of the hole. I think from previous posts, that I'm clutched a little different than you. We ride anywhere from 3000-7000 feet, so I've got the 74g MTX weights loaded pretty heavy with 2g rivet in the middle and 3g rivet on the tip. I also run a lighter primary spring than alot of guys. SLP black/yellow which is a 120/310 if I remember correctly. Getting lots of belt pinch.

For sure set the belt deflection as you stated. The Red/Pink spring is an improvement, you may even be able to go stiffer.
Not sure on your primary setup. My guess is that you are going to have some slippage which is the snap you feel like you are missing.
You may try upping your primary spring and weight just a little to compensate. I've heard really good results from both MTX and Heelclicker weights on your sled.
I'm sure some of the 900 masters will chime in with some better suggestions.

What are your RPM's with that light of spring and throwing that much weight?

Nelson, when it was still geared 19/42, I would still regularly hit my rev limiter at 8050 rpm (70-42-.46 helix and red/pink). I geared it up one tooth to 20/42 before last ride and in close to 4 feet of fresh, it would still hold 7900 rpm climbing and 50-55 mph track speed.

My primary clutch as of now is the same setup on a stock 2003 King Cat .... Yellow/Green spring, 69g weights. It holds 7800 RPM pretty consistently with that setup, but also I truthfully have no idea what my powerband on this motor looks like

I just need to get it shimmed right and the deflection set for sure ....

Dogmeat, the '06 needs to be at 7600 rpm if stock and if you've got the SLP pipe and reflash, I was told by one of the SLP techs to shoot for 7700 rpm. So if it's clutched, geared, etc, to hold 7600-7800 you're definitely in the ballpark. I'm still a couple hundred rpm's high, so next ride I'm going to the 70-44-.46 angle on my helix.

All I have is the SLP can.

It's the stock pipe and stock head, but the stock head has been modified slightly and the computer reflashed with RMX's programming.

Isn't the specified peak RPM on these motors 7400?

shortstop, maybe I'm mistaken, but I thought the '06's wanted 7,600 rpm.

Dogmeat, with the mods you've done, I would think you'd be really close between 7600 - 7800 rpm. Maybe it's worth a call to RMX, since you have their reflash.

I don't know much about the 900's. A guy I now bought one about a month ago and he said the dealership said the correct peak RPM's was 7400 RPM for a 2005. The 2006 model must be different.

After I posted my last reply, I checked my '06 service manual. It calls for 7600 +/- 200 rpm

I should be pretty close on the RPM's ...

Maybe going to a lighter weight but heavier spring combo would be good?

It seems to me like what I want right now is for the sled to "shift faster"...

My dealer told me 7900-8100 with the mods I have on my 2005. SLP pipe, can, airbox, higher compression head, v-force 3, clutching, gearing, etc. Not sure if that's accurate but the saved max rpm on my gauge shows 7900. 7400 seems too flat with more power needed for climbing etc. I know because the prefilter on my SLP airbox filled with snow and it would run strong just boondocking, but when I tried to climb it wouldn't rev higher than 7400-7450 and was a turd. Oh and my check engine light and the service engine lights were flashing all day. Maybe that had something to do with performance?? Just my observation.
