So here's the deal. I met this girl a while back and have spent a lot of time talking with her. I'm going to be taking her on a date (it'll be our first) in Portland/surrounding area. Traveling the city is not a problem with me.

What i'm looking for is something she will enjoy that makes me stand out a bit. Maybe something extreme or sort of 'off the beaten path' for a first date I guess you could say..that's what i'm shooting for atleast. So a bit about her...equal parts girlie-girl and tom boy. She's just as happy sweating, getting dirty, doing out doorsy things as she is dressing up in designer clothes with her hair and makeup done. She's comfortable and can hold her own in any situation. She's a classy girl who's big into manners and how she presents herself, but she also has a twisted sense of humor (the more sarcastic, uncomfortable, and perverted the better). If anyone has some great ideas please share. I'm new to the area so any help is much appreciated!

Multnomah Falls is a really gorgeous place. There's a great little grill and pub there also, good microbrews if I recall correctly. Also used to have a small movie theate too.. don't know about anymore.

Depending on how expensive you want, there is a nice restaurant up in the top of the US Bank building downtown, over looks the city and at night the view is amazing!

I've never done it, but there is an underground Portland tour. That could be fun. http://www.portlandwalkingtours.com/tours/underground_portland.php

There is also a great Moroccan restaurant in the 23rd area called Marrakesh. You eat on the floor on pillows, feast style. It's a GREAT fun!!! I highly recommend it! http://www.tripadvisor.com/Restaura...kesh_Moroccan_Restaurant-Portland_Oregon.html

Of the McMenamins in the area, my favorite are....

The Baghdad Theatre, for dinner and a movie: http://www.mcmenamins.com/events/search/Movie?location_id=99

Rock Creek Tavern: http://www.mcmenamins.com/243-rock-creek-tavern-home

The Grand Lodge: http://www.mcmenamins.com/426-grand-lodge-home

Portland has lots of great options. I hope this helps!!

Thanks for the responses so far. I'm going to check out these options. Thinking maybe the US Bank thing for V Day? I think we'll be heading out Tuesday or Wednesday evening of this week.

Well the update is that we've hungout a few times now and things have gone really well. Thanks for posting up thoughts and ideas. I've taken her to the morrocan restaurant...talk about entertaining! Trying to work something up for V-day. I'm thinking the US Bank thing is kinda pricey for the stage we're at, at least from my standpoint.

After visiting the area

Mulhtnoma (sp) falls is my bet. I gotta imagine that place is killer on a clear evening and why not make it an evening dinner/picnic. That trail is pretty damn easy and with a flashlight I see no troubles getting down at night, nor does it seem to be to cold in Portland to be outside in Feb.

Good luck man!

Or just go to Rouge and tour the distillery. not sure which brew house it is, but the wife and I did it and basically they don't get a lot of people doing the tour so it is a private tour. When we went it was only us and one dude from the bar at the last minute. How can 30-40 minutes learning about rum and gin while drinking a pint of rouge beer be a bad night? And it was a free tour so you are only out parking and beer!
