I received my new SPOT 2 satellite messenger today. So far I am pretty impressed. The reception/transmission seems to be much better than the first gen uinit. I was pretty impressed with how quickly it acquired its "brain" right out of the box. Additionally, the new smaller size, form factor and UI is awesome. The buttons make more sense and are easier to use. I have attached a picture showing the size as compared to an iPhone/iPod. The new gray color is pretty cool, but would be more difficult to locate in the snow if needed.
