Hi beam headlight switch bad contact

My wifes 02 RMK 600 seems to have a bad contact in the hi-beam switch. It lights up on low, flickers the high beam element when I switch to high, but wont keep constant power.

Anyone familiar with the internals to these?

Their failure is common just get an on-off-on switch and mount it next to your key.

Awesome idea, picked one up for less than $6 off Ebay. Bought a heavy duty 20A switch that came with waterproof boot. Should be fine for this:

Buy a low mileage replacement off of EBAY. When the switch completely goes out, it will really screw up your engine so that you have to keep it running in mid rpm range. You won't be able to get full rpm out of your engine. Consider your little defect as warning of a pending failure.
