Yeah it would be interesting to see an honest side by side comparison of all of the kits.....apples to apples. There are a couple of 860s around these parts that I stomp on on a regular basis with my well tuned 800. Really wanted to go with the 872 when I done my rebuild but I just cant shell out that kind of cash without KNOWING that it will work.

The only motel in Preston is the Plaza (HILTON LOL) 208-852-2020 John is staying there as well...
So, will be a good time regardless of the weather and ,hopefully, the attitudes stay in the truck.... We are comparing apples to oranges but it will be fun to see where it all lands...

Just to refresh your memory..
MY sled has had ZERO tuning !.. In fact it is even on its original belt!
It has:
1)STOCK CLUTCHING... No clutching changes.
2)STOCK EXHAUST!
3)NO FUEL CONTROL BOX
4)Gear Change ONLY!
5)PUMP GAS from the Preston ID Gas station
I am running this "bare bones" kit to show what can be done for a very good price (under $1900) with NO ADDED components other than the RK Tek Big Bore conversion.
Is there more performance to be had?? You Bet... We will have that option available as well.. but, the current configuration has NO TUNING from STOCK!
So, while you negativity is always appreciated... This ETEC is not modified in any way other than the big bore.. and truth be known.. the PTEK engine DOES make more power than the ETEC..
I suspect the Full Mod SHR 880 PTEK will be the highmark on the hill once they find out who will climb the hill in front of them..
We are not here to RACE across the flats or race uphill, TRUE HP and performance is about MAINTAINING the available Power in the LONG and LOADED pull.. So, this is how we will compare.
All these little 5 sec WOT at peak RPM dyno runs mean very little.. You have to be able to sustain the HP inthe 1 minute + pull...
So, highmarks will be the food of choice...

Sled is running nice but if you are going to post video of your product and how much better it is then stock, show comparison.
For a viewer that is a good running stock sled as nothing to compare to only yourself driving around.

rk tech's motors run good.. It was a tuff day with almost 4ft of new snow and coming down... His old rev got me. Not sure about the etch..Lol! But it did run great. I don't have the track that Bigjohn and the etech have.. Bigjohn's 880 full mod rips.. Love that 3''. Kelsey took it up against a racegas turbo pro. And they were even at the top.. I am happy with my motor considering my wore out track it did ok. Did I say i liked the 880? Lol! Thing pulled my arms off. Can't wait for that new track... Good times guy's had a blast.
