If the new boards are about the same widt as the xm, and the brake/chain case cover is 1,5" it should stil make room for a good 4"+ at the front?

3/4 of your shoes at the running board should be enough footing for a position used 10% of the day.

Even the 17 M cat have the same issue but i've never heard anny issues with that ;)

Im super happy with a bit narrow footing at the front as long as my sled performs!

Just my opinion :face-icon-small-win

gotta disagree.those extreme boards are drawn up by a pro rider who rides wfo.less in back where you dont need it.streamline look.and less crossbars for max flow.

Yes, the most important place to be narrow is at the front of the boards and the belly pan.

but the dragging belly pan is what it is.im not cutting that up.:face-icon-small-win.just seems like it would be stronger, better looking and easier install if new tubes mounted in front where the stockers are mounted.couple rivits..:)

I agree with you that the boards look awesome and functional,
but they are way to wide at the front for those of us who ride technical terrain.
They will drag while aggressiveside hilling, no doubt!

but what drags up front?.:).when moving forward the bellypan floats and the front of boards are above the bellypan.
i can see the rear of the boards and crossbars dragging

So the front of the sled is always above the snow? Like this?

The taper needs to start affect the primary, if you put a straight edge from the primary plastic to the rear bumper, you need to be in about an inch from there or more, also they need to be angled up and as task as possible

Edit done to the boards to see the result. Note the RMK is wider and will gain a positive angle.

It looks like the bodies are pretty close to the same width. But the bottom of the body is probably narrower on th axys. Combine that with the boards that are narrower on the front and a wider ski stance it has a clear advantage.

Usually a wider stance allows for steeper sidehill, but it gives the sled a flop over feel where as the doo and cat it becomes a better balance point.
If you widen either of them they feel more like a poo and tip up then flop when narrowed.
But if you raise and narrow the boards and body enough it's a non issue.
Add gripper skis and it gives them as good of a balance point as possible with massive control. To get the most you will have to add steering and suspension changes.

because of the engine placement on the g4 is got massive potential, just have to develop it

Great pictures and the green line is spot on!! (at least not any wider)

Even put the skis in the wide position and it should be a side hill monster :face-icon-small-hap
