Hey all - bought a 156" track to replace my 144. "No problem" says seller as far as extensions.

As luck would have it, it is a problem (absolutely no hard feelings toward the seller, he was a nice guy & I don't think it was at ALL intentional). Everyone makes a 144-159" extension, or 144-151".

156? Nope. I found one place who listed it, but they're indefinitely backordered.

Anyone know of a place beyond SLP/TracksUSA? Anyone have one for sale?

Alternately, anyone want to buy a 156x15x2 good-to-great condition Camoplast?

Extensions not included;).

Sled is an 03 Summit 700, SC10 suspension.

DAMMIT!

What , no one wants to help LOL

:)Are you going up to 8-9" wheels?
That makes a difference as well. I will check my extentions and see how long they are. I moved the skid back and went to 8.5 wheels . went from 144-156 and it works great, that was in 2005 and i have never had a problem with it .

Thanks, Skeezer - much appreciated. Annoying; I always seem to run into stuff like this.

If it was me, I'd probably buy the 144 -151" extensions and add a Big wheel Kit, should be enough to take up the slack.

Thanks! Will give them a call.

$200 for the track + shipping? It is in very good shape - ultimately, that would suit me best, seems that 159s are a dime a dozen, as are the extensions.
Lemmeknow!

I did find a "universal" extension from Mountain Machines, although it requires 8" wheels. I'm not opposed to 8" wheels, mind you - just had not really budgeted for them.

stupid snowmobiles....;)

admitting it is the first step

Yes it is and expensive hobby, Just remember, When she ask's how much you spent only admit to 50% but make sure to tell her how you saved by doing it yourself... LOL
So your track project should only cost about $75.00 Right?

Good Luck

heh, no kidding. I feel like such a tool with this stuff; I've been doing my other motor-hobbies long enough that I know exactly what to get (in this case, a 159, not a 156....). I bought the wrong things several times over learning those, though.

It'll work out. HOPEFULLY, someone will see this thread and say "oh, I've got some 6" extenders on that skid in the garage...."

No, wait, that someone WILL do just that.

The day after my $155.00 universal Mountain Machines show up, I'm sure;).

That's just the way it works.

Iain (not really complaining, and I REALLY won't be complaining once the sled is together!)

Willdo! Western Power Sports - I think I looked at their site, but I've not called them yet.

I must admit, I am very grateful for all the help here.

RAD! Western Power Sports lists them in their 2010 catalog.

Calling tomorrow......

radradrad.

Thanks! Hopefully they have them, then I'll gold plate them to devalue them a bit.

Sheesh.
