Evolution Powersports just finished baselining the 17 TCAT/Sidewinder. It looks like the production versions have been detuned from the pre production models. We consistently measured 181 horsepower at 9.5 lbs of boost. There is no doubt there is huge potential in this package and look forward to tuning it in the coming weeks.

Our Stage 1 tune is nearly complete and should be on snow tested within two weeks. Boost pressure is raised from 10 to 14 lbs, timing, fueling and the rev limit is also changed. The tune, with our exhaust nets +37 horsepower over stock and 25 over just an exhaust on 91 octane fuel. Next week, we will really crank it up and see what the Yamaha mill can really do

Evolution Powersports will be in Cooke City MT next week (if the snow forecast holds!) field testing our Stage 1 and Stage 2 ECU Programs for the Sidewinder/Thundercat.

If all goes well, tuning will be released shortly after that.

do these new sleds still have the play dough connecting rods or did yamaha get that fixed?? obviously turning up the boost is pointless if the motor is gonna throw rods

The rod issue was not a design flaw, it was some rods in 2016 that were not heat treated and was not wide spread. But having any rods fail was bad and made more news than it should.
