just got my 600 montana Gps. i am looking for some 24 K topo maps of Colorado and montana . appreciate any help on finding some and do i need any thing special to download then to the unit?

You will also need the Garmin Base camp program, available for free from the Garmin website. The topo maps will install automatically into Base camp, which will then allow you to choose some or all topo data for a state, and upload it to the 600s internal memory, or a micro sd card. Base Camp also lets you upload, store, and view your tracks and waypoints on the computer. It will also convert your tracks for viewing on google earth.
