Hello All,
Just before the new year I had the crank go out on my 04 XC 700, taking a whole bunch of things with it including the head. I've got it all back together now except I've run into an issue with the new head that I got for it. I found a used head from an 04 Switchback 700 that I assumed would fit. Turns out the water line fitting on the back side is much larger on the Switchback then it is on the regular XCSP. Different part numbers as well. See pictures. What I can determine is the head seems to be the same in every way except the larger coolant fitting line on the Switchback. I assume this is because of the Switchback's 144" track. The Cylinders for both engines are the same number as well. I've come up with a solution by getting a bushing that threads into the Switchback head, then threading my fitting into that.
Does anybody see an issue with what I am doing?
Thanks,
