Remember in the days you used to take a 900 Cat and produce those speeds in about 300+ ft. with a 2" track. Boy times have changed with a 2.6" track +!

I enjoy racing my friend across lakes. You can always tell when they hit about 80MPH...just look for track paddles exiting the back of the tunnel.

Top speed should be about the same as 2014/2015, 2017mtn cat-2019mtn cat.
They all have the same gears and similar driver diameter. Only difference is overdrive.
Expect about 75mph. U may get up to 80mph.
Polaris and ski-doo will have a higher top speed.

Yes. It is geared way too high. I haven't seen a need for a mountain sled to go 55mph.

Begs the question though. If full shift out is most efficient and these sleds pull 45mph track speed loaded on a climb...does higher gearing hurt or help?

1:1 ratios of diameters the belt is running on both clutches, at full throttle, at your desired loaded condition would be the most ideal. If at that condition you're shifting out further, then gearing up should help get you to that sweet spot. If at that condition you're under shifting then gearing down may help. Entirely depends on available power and load for the conditions the sled is being ridden in. This is all based on the assumption that you're already running at target RPM. My thoughts anyway.
