my riding partner has a 13sxf520 thumper racing big bore.
I ride a 13 ktm 500 dead stock
power wise between the two bikes, very little.
his sx picks up revs way way faster which is an advantage
my stock motor is smooooth and little vibration
his has a lot of vibration under acceration, some of which could be his rich/lean settings ?
3 years of 2 day a week riding on both we have installed new pistons in both and neither showed any signs of significant wear.
yesterday in fresh dense 1 ft of new snow i could much easier launch across a couple of bumps with ease on his bike, mine.......not so much, picks revs to slow, jumped some small new creeks in spring riding, his bike no biggey, mine you have to clutch it. In new deeep powder in Jan. they run about the same for hard pull.
