Ordered a new vr and it came with no harness to move it up to the clutch cover as suggested. I can't find one anywhere. They all come with only the sm-01240 vr with one short plug coming out of them. HELP!!

In that case, I'd suggest a Yamaha. Parts support for anything over 10 years old gets sparse pretty quick, and things like a little wiring work or adapting newer parts eventually becomes par for the course. I've got an '02 600; it's a tank, and I've had no significant breakdowns (in part thanks to proactive maintenance). You can have a lot of fun for pennies on the dollar compared to a new sled, but fix-it projects like this are part of the experience.

Yes. I have 2 Yamahas and 2 Artic Cats with the Suzuki engines. Way more reliable for sure
