1996 XCR 440 Clutch is sluggish/old

Hi, i have a XCR 440 SP, which has served me well,, about 5,000 miles on motor and still running great. BUT, last couple years when i hammer WOT from a stop seems like clutch engages a little early and,, not an engine bog happens from motor issues,,,, i wanna say bog from clutch load out of wack w/ engine torque curve... but then it gets moving and then takes off... I can run w/ the 600's a few lengths in front of me,,, just don't rip anymore.

My friend told me my primary clutch needs to get freshin'd up.

Question: Is this a normal matinence thing w/ clutch ?

What do i need,, basic cost effective fresh up ? Spring, Weights, bushings ?

Kind like a 10 speed stuck in 5 -10th gear, rather than 1-10th gear.

This is definatly not a carb/motor issue.... This machine puts a smile on my face every time i fire it up,, just cause i have beat this so much and many firends sleds have fallen,, and this baby just keeps going. I got her all stickered up w/ kool look and clean.. Now my son will be driving her and i want him to be proud of the power this 440 SP has.
