Broken rail

Pulled the sled in the shop tonight to put a new brake resivoir on (go figure) and found this nice little surprise once all the snow melted off.

Just curious to see if anyone else has had this happen? Broke clean through.

Did you jump and landed on the rear of the skid? Looks like the result of a rough landing.

I havent really jumped big on this sled at all. Took it to my dealership and sounds like it will be covered under warranty. They havent seen anything like it either. I could see it to if i hit something while in a wheelie or a tail landing but i havent done either of those.

I had a rail on my 17’ break in the exact same spot. If you look at the rails on an 18’ they have added a lot more meat around that window so I would say it was a known issue with the 17s and has been corrected on the new rails

Whoa! The pictures are pretty clear. That's a big difference between the '17 & '18. Thanks for sharing the pictures.

I had a rail on my 17’ break in the exact same spot. If you look at the rails on an 18’ they have added a lot more meat around that window so I would say it was a known issue with the 17s and has been corrected on the new rails

Yes thank you very much for sharing! I havent had a chance to go pickup my 18 yet but i ordered the bomber rails for it anyways.

Just out of curiosity did you get that rail warrantied?
