Does anyone know if head can be refurbished after detonation pitting? If so, who does it?

Light pitting won’t have any adverse effect on combustion. Take some fine sand paper and smooth off the sharp edges so there’s not any hot spots.
Why did you get deto and why did the knock sensor not pick it up.

To much boost not enough av fuel, magneto side got little warm and caused some deto. Never did set off guage telling me nothing.
We can fix the head more than likely. Also an lower the compression slightly to help prevent the deto problem you are having.
Careful of running a pitted head on a performance motor. It can trap pockets of unwanted heat and cause deto and hurt performance.
