Is anyone using the Pieps freeride beacon? Was looking at SBD website, and they have them for $175.00. I like the small compact design too!

The Freeride is a good beacon to put on a kid, or for the occasional out-of-bounds skier, that's about it. If you're looking for a beacon for yourself, or anyone who may be searching for you, don't get the Freeride. It's small and cheap, but it's also very difficult and time-consuming when searching compared to the other, more deluxe beacons out there.
