I have a 08 Summit X and when I start it - it idles at 3000 rpms and stays there. I can't kick it down. is this normal? the other guys I ride with have 09's and their idles at maybe 1500.. is there something I can do or its ok?
I just don't want it to overheat if it idles to long.

Have you adjusted the idle screw on top of the carb? Unscrew to lower rpm.

If you blip the choke does it idle down then slowly creep itself back up? If its this its cause your at a lean idle. Don't think its a big issue as many mountain sleds do this...

I haven't tried the screw yet. I will try that when I go out on Thursday.
I will also try the choke thing and see what it does. is lean idle bad?
