This happened this morning just outside the the ski area. The guy that triggered it was putting his skis on at the top and knocked a piece of the cornice off. One guy skinning up was blown off an adjacent ridge by the air that the slide moved. Reports are the crown was 8 feet deep and the slide was nearly a mile wide. They think that no one was buried, S&R are still conducting beacon search's. Be careful out there. The pictures were taken from the highway which is a pretty long way away.

I love riding the bridgers but its basically flat and now snow then the steep and deep on the ridge, and with this many slides this large letting lose up there.. im not really wanting to try my luck!! they were showing in a video how they couldnt get the layer to break with skiers if they wanted, but Im wondering if thetrench and weight of a sled would be enought to set em off that deep. Either which way, for those riding the bridgers.. play it safe... all those hills in the back were having small slides before the tons of snow, now more snow and its not looking good up there!!
