Hello

Anyone know if the -18 mc with the new dsi engine is going hotter, cooler or the same temp as then previous 16-17 with the suzuki engine?

Heard some rumors that -18 will go hotter...

Also curious to hear this.

A friend test rode last spring and swears the '18 was flashing the light in conditions that wouldn't have bothered his '16.

the program is set to flash around 145 and the older gauge didn't flash until 170. they each run about the same temp just the threshold is lower.

The 18 ER 162 seemed as good or better than my 14 153. Both 3in powerclaw.

2 rides on my 18 162.
Don't need the scratchers on the trail.
Highest temp i seen was 141° averages 124°. Just drag a foot every so often to keep the hifax lubed and keep temps around 113°. Skis were hitting gravel, thats why i did not want the scratchers down, don't like throwing gravel in my skid.
On my 2014, i always have to run the scratchers on the trail to keep the temps down in the 130's

Off trail my 18 runs 98-107°.
My 14 is 120's- 130's

Want a couple hundred miles of data before i trim flap for a solid baseline. Then compare to shortened flap. I believe the shorter flap will net similar results.

Is there a way to display the actual temperature on the new ctec 800? All I have seen is a scale bar, no actual denominations anywhere that I can find, maybe I'm missing something?

Hold lower left button down while temp is displayed and numerical value will be added to the bar.
