Whats the weight of a 163 pro RTR? Something that often gets overlooked is that the cat (and doo i believe?) engine weighs considerably more than the polaris engine. Coupled with larger tracks on the doo and cat means that two essential basically fixed weight items come in 15+ lbs heavier than polaris, but significantly add to reliability and performance. So if the 163 t3 rtr comes within 15-20lbs of the pro, doo has essentially taken the same amount of weight off the chassis as the polaris. We've seen what happens when a mfg skimps on the engine...

Exactly my point, I want to see a Pro RTR with a 174 3 inch or 163 3 inch. Bet the weight is not much different then a T3.

Finally have the weight of a T3 174, pic are on snowandmud.com. Wet ready to ride came in at 545.5lbs. Skidoo came through big time with the T3's. T3 163 will be under 540lbs ready to ride.

You goto weight for a 2014 summit x? Wonder if there claims are as said. I recall a 14 sumit x around 550+ mark

Seems like you just answered your own question. The claim was that the 174 t3 would weigh the same as a 14 summit x 163. The 174 t3 came in at 545, so if the 14 163 was 550+ then I say skidoo hit a home run!!

That weight seems off then

174 t3 at 545 RTR
154 summit 558 RTR

Between the front end and some minor lightweight mods does not add up to 13lbs... I would say a t3 would be around the 555 mark

154 summit 558 RTR

That 558 RTR is for the base model 154, Summit X 154 is lighter

Hung a 163 T3 straight from the dealer with float 3 front shocks about 3/4 full oil and very little fuel 496.6. This is a cheaper eBay scale but last year on same scale a stock 13 cat M8 sno pro 153 was 519 full of oil and no fuel

On the scale with ES, a spare belt, a skid plate and 8 liters of gas (oil and coolant full) the weight of my T3 174 was 230 kgs.

Doo-ing the math *(taking off the ES and skid plate), adding the weight of another 32 liters of fuel (they are 40 liter tanks), the weight came in at 524.8 lbs.

I am presently stripping the decals and the foam and getting the beauty ready to ride. I will go back to the scale and post the results.

I assume the DOT highway scales are fairly accurate as the figures have to stand up in a court of law. I doo not know what the percentage of error is on the low end.

I finally got my 174 yesterday I topped it off with oil and gas and got 548.6 with float 3 shocks. 534.2 with Diamond S Ti lite can. 525.4 with Ti can and Mountain Fit hood. The hood had the glove box and LED light options as well as the stock windshield

The mountain fit hood saves 9 lbs? I'm going to look into that.

Exactly 9 pounds on my digital fish scale. That is the complete hood with airbox shelf, glove box with door, factory windshield, LED light and gauge exactly you would run it. 18.4 stock and 9.4 mtn fit. Hood would be probably 12 pounds less without light, glove box or windshield
