I bought some 3/4" gears over the weekend for my iqr and installed them. I had realized earlier that the stock iqr chain was gonna be 7/8" because of the 7/8" top gear. What will be the negative effects of running that chain with the narrower gears? I know its probly gonna walk a bit but with the correct tension i dont think it should be a problem. I was gonna just run it but i decided to ask what u guys think first.

Got some looks but no answer huh... No one has ever used the stock chain with new gears then?

It will be fine!
Tons of people do it including myself with no problems. Im running 22/39 gearing at the moment with good success. I did hear grinding but later found out the bolt that holds that bottom gear had snapped which allowed the gear to walk off and hit the case. I dont think its from running the 3/4 stuff though.. Just letting you know so if for some reason you do hear a weird noise you know what to check lol
