It would take a lot of fun out of the bike. Your setup would be longer than a sled! Also, being able to hold third gear would climb better with the 137 inch track Than having to shift down to second with the 154.

I ran a 1.6 hard as nails 141" hillcross track Cat had cooked up for their sponsored riders.
Deep powder it was great. I could takeoff and idle up through steep with ease.
When the snow hardened up, it was a pushing sob. No fun in the trees. Brutal wheelies on hard steep climbs. I had to try it. Too much traction for 50hp.

My 137 CR500 climbed like a raped ape but handled like a school bus in the trees. I can only assume a 146 version would climb better and handle worse. Yeti used to make a 146 but it didn't sell because it sucked everywhere but out in the open.

To give you an idea.. I was not stuck here, just motored right on. I out did some 163 sleds in the deep a few times, but yeah turning on set up snow was retarded

i only ride in trees and my 141 got stuck more than my shorty because it wouldnt turn

The whole point of a snowbike is a nimble, easy to maneuver machine. Everything you are asking about is why most snowbikers left snowmobiles in the first place. My 120" Timbersled goes anywhere and everywhere I need it to and I wouldn't go longer if it was free. Sounds like you need to go back to a sled!

On the flats - yes, 120 is enough. In the steap mountains - I need max climbing ability. Not everywhere there is a place to side-hill.
Sled? Are joking? I never even tried the sled. I got the snowbike directly.
I am going to buy another one for my father (he is 65). Cannot find another Husaberg 570, will take Honda CR500 and a 137×15in track...

From what I see the majority of us commenting here only ride mountains. and there is always a place to side hill Unless you buy a long track that can't make a switch back..... to this day i'm still trying to figure out a way to make my long track work good enough so I will want to ride it over my Shorty but I can't think of one time in the last 4 seasons it would have been a better choice. I have 120,137 and 141 sitting i'm my garage...120 is the best for everything.

This is what a CR500 and and 137 track will cost me here is in Russia. Actually, total is $6k...
3in lugs are nice though. Is there is big difference between 2.6in and 3in?

FYI CMX has discontinued the 137 for 2020. The track itself makes way more difference than the length. The Camso/Yeti track in 129 will out climb a TS 137 convex track all day long and handle better at the same time. It's snow bike evolution. I still have my CR500 currently with no kit, I sold the 137 TS kit off of it because of how crappy it handled. There's nothing you can do to that setup to make it ride and handle like a newer setup. If you ride wide open terrain, it will work but if you want to deek through the trees it sucks balls. Trust me I did three exhausting seasons on that setup.

The length of the track was limited by the ponies of the machine at one time , for some reason that line of logic got thrown out the door . Even though the 600 sleds are pushing close to 130 ponies the longer track lengths offered can make them worthless in certain conditions . there just isn't enough throttle to spool up the track speed when needed .
So the question to ask is can your bike spool up the track when it's needed ? or does it matter ?

From my experience, I do not like to spin the track. When going up, I loose traction when starts to spin. I have to up-shift or ease the throttle to re-gain grip.
Also, I do not like to dig trenches.. more sq inches = easier to plane over..
A lot of us have found that a 129 track is all you need even in the steepest deepest mountain terrain. Other people have to figure this out for themselves.
It sounds like you're dead set on this long track, maximum flotation theory.
So why not get a 174 x 16 from a skidoo and graft it onto your bike? That should do the trick!

nice video. i miss winter already. still might get one more day like that if we are lucky.. I liked the 50 yard turning radius when you got to the top! I have a free 141"sx track if any one wants it.
