Doubt I’m going to try the SLP spring. I like to try my own combos.

The 175s come from the factory with the 170-400 primary.

I am at 61-6200 ft starting, most riding is from 7000-10,000ft.

If these Magnum Force weights will produce that nice low engagement on the snow I’ll be super happy. Not a huge fan of virtually 5000 RPM( 4000 on concrete )with the 175 once in the powder.

I’ll report more after tomorrow, should be able to get some good testing done.
Try a 150-350 for lower engagement or do a free fix and cut an inch off a 170/400 and test. If it brings down the engagement and you want lower engagement, cut off another inch and retry. This will also cause more belt clamping force which is great.

19/51 gears, 165", 4500-6000ft. Hi torque rollers. Stock clutching.
It's my riding partners sled. No rpm fluctuation. He loves it.

Sorry if this is obvious but what springs in the primary and secondary? And how many “weights” in the Magnum Force weights?

They work excellent, low engagement of3200 rpm and pull hard on my sled, only thing is I wish they were heavier for my sea level riding areas I’m maxed out on weight Are we need more options for springs for the p-drive .

I like the sound of this. If there i a setup that only requires a weight change for high to low elevation I think I would give these a try and sell my SHR adjustable weights. Every appealing to not have to remove the belt and clamp the clutch to adjust the weight plus the claimed low end benefits...

Talked to SLP today. The guy told me that these ramps are currently only good for 3000+ ft. He said they are looking at ways to make the ramp more flexible to go from 0 to 11k. Seems all you would need to do is use some tungsten weights which I asked about but he didn't really answer.

165/350 primary spring, Projected tip screw, 1 1/4 stainless set screw and there lock screw. Is the heaviest setup I could run, it might over rev 100 rpm at 400 ft elevation but will work. I’ve ran that same setup to 4600 ft turned 8000 rpm at that elevation.

So some of you have had a season or so to assess these weights, so what's the verdict... good bang for the buck?

What kind of temps are you guys seeing with these arms?

Jake

Never checked but my clutches (with Slp weights ) run much cooler than the oem calibration and the I backshift clutch kit I had in there previously.

What was your engagement with this set up ?

Did you try tungsten weights to try and make it heavier to bring down the shift RPM ?

Besides lower belt temps , what else have you observed with the SLP Magnum force weights ?

Engagement 3200 ish

Yes got some tungsten weights for the tip they fit perfectly where the projected tip goes. With tungsten in the tip you can use these at sea level with there recommended spring.

The sled has more lowend grunt with these weights. And pulls harder. That’s been my experience.

I agree with AK, after riding his sled with these weights I knew I had to have them. They engage the sled around 2800rpm and makes it feels so grunty. Overall it is the best weights Ive tried in the 850 so far. I have tried stock 967, 968, zrp, and these. Very pleased with them, easy to adjust in the field too!

For longer heavier set screws just go to your local Home Depot.

The size is 5/16-18 setscrews they have many lengths to choose from the stainless steel are slightly heavier.
1 1/4 is as long as you can go and still use a lock screw and projected tip are the short tungsten provided in that link.
